The DJR187 is Makita's first reciprocating saw to feature a brushless motor. Brushless motors are compact and energy-efficient — approximately 30% smaller and lighter than conventional motors. As the name suggests, the brushless motor doesn't have carbon brushes that generate heat and friction — a feature that makes it a low-maintenance and durable reciprocating saw. Thanks to Makita Li-ion batteries and the brushless motor, the DJR187 can run for extended periods without needing to change batteries. The tool offers two speed settings (0-2,300 / 0-3,000 RPM), and the appropriate speed is easily selected. Its high torque and 32 mm stroke depth provide extra power for demolition and cutting tasks. Blade changes and adjustments can be made without tools. An LED light and a hanging loop are also included as standard.
