A viral air purifier
The HL 400 air purifier is a mobile air filter device. Air is absorbed from the environment and passes through a multi-stage filter system. A designer air purifier filters out viruses, bacteria, odors, dust and pollen. With the help of the filter system, room air is filtered and pollutants are introduced.

The multi-stage filter system consists of a pre-filter, an activated carbon filter, a main filter (optionally EPA E11 or HEPA H14 according to EN 1822), UV sterilization and ionization.

Using a certified HEPA H14 filter reduces the concentration of viruses (such as the current corona virus) and bacteria.

What do air filters do?
Viruses, bacteria and other microbes are found not only on surfaces, but also in the air, especially indoors. Whether people gather in rooms such as offices, classrooms, restaurants or fitness studios, aerosols and therefore viruses float around the room. These droplets float in the air for hours and cause infection even when the infected person is no longer in the room.

An air purifier reduces the concentration of viruses and microbes and of course other pollutants such as dust, pollen and allergens that are in the indoor air. In this way, they can also significantly reduce the current concentration of the coronavirus in the room air.

Filtration system stages:
1 stage:

pre-filter
An aluminum filter is used as a pre-filter. The pre-filter filters coarse dust particles larger than 5 micrometers, such as house dust, flakes, dust. The filter can be washed with water and therefore can be used several times. Heylo recommends changing the pre-filter annually.

2 + 3 stages:

Effective formaldehyde filter

Formaldehyde filter with activated carbon removes unwanted odors, gases and substances from the air. It also cleans the air from harmful formaldehyde in a very short time. Substances are absorbed by activated carbon and when the filter is saturated, it must be replaced. Heylo recommends this every 6 months. In the case of strong odor pollution, such as cigarette smoke, more frequent changes may also be beneficial.

High efficiency EPA filter (particulate filter)
The EPA filter filters airborne germs, smoke and dust particles down to 1 micron at a rate of 99% or greater. Combined with a multi-purpose filter, the EPA filter can filter out microscopic particles larger than 20 nanometers in diameter, including bacterial mold, dust, allergens and some viruses. According to the World Health Organization, the corona virus, bird flu virus, influenza virus and Legionella bacteria are more than 20 nanometers.

4th stage:

Ultraviolet light sterilization

UV Sterilization Using UV light with a wavelength of 365 nanometers can kill large numbers of airborne bacteria. UV disinfection lamp is commonly used for air, surface and water disinfection. It can purify the air, remove unpleasant odors and produce a limited amount of anions. This makes the air cleaner and prevents viruses from spreading in the air or on surfaces.

5th stage:

ionization
Using strong electric fields, ionizers can charge individual air particles and thereby increase the concentration of ions in the room air. Charged particles are more reactive and can break down odor molecules and other pollutants. At the same time, differently charged particles attract and form larger clumps that sink faster to the ground and are more easily filtered from the air.

Reduction of airborne pathogens

Many pathogens are commonly found in indoor air that is not treated. This group includes mold spores, bacteria, animal hair and, above all, house dust allergens (mite excrement, excrement), as well as heavy metals, soot and mineral fibers. A large amount of this suspended matter develops, especially on warm days or during the heating season, and circulates with house dust in the room air.
